Namma Bengalurina Clover Leaf Interchange..
Guess which is the hottest spot in Bangalore now? It's the newly inaugurated Clover Leaf Interchange along the 9km stretch b/w Mysore Road & Kanakapura Road. Check out this pic taken during it's construction final stages.
Firstly let me tell you abt a cloverleaf interchange (if you didn't happen to know abt it already). A cloverleaf interchange provides unrestricted movement at an intersection., which means that you don't have to wait at those long, boring signals anymore. People going left have t jus use the exit ramp on the left and take the left turn. And people intending to take a right turn must first cross the intersection & then take a LEFT!!. Yes, you need to take the left side elevated ramp in order to turn right. Take a closer look at this pic below & you will understand what I am telling.
To take a right, continue driving on the left, cross the intersection & turn towards the elevated on the left which takes a 270° turn & merges into the intersecting road. Isn't it great!! No signals & no stopping anywhere. It' much more special, since it's in our very own Bangalore (although the pic just above is not the one from Bangralore). The credit certainly gone to NICE LIMITED for providing such a beautiful piece of roadway. I am hoping against hope that our state government would stop creating hurdles in NICE's way & allow them to complete this project there by paving a better way for travelling. Now for the best part of this blog, an on-site pic from the cloverleaf interchange at Bangalore.
It is not awesome. :)
